Bulls
Ole! Entertainment LLC understands for a successful show a Matador needs a good partner (bull), which is why we carefully select our bulls for maximum performance. The beauty of bullfighting is that no two performances are the same. Even if you have the same Matador and bulls are brothers, every outcome will be different.
There are good and bad traits that bulls may exhibit. A complicated bull will usually present a defensive fight making it unreliable and dangerous for the Matador. Displays of artistic ability will be difficult to achieve with this type of bull and will require highly developed technical skills, intelligence and physical abilities from the Matador to dominate the bull. A good bull presents an offensive fight together with other positive traits such as conserving the energy longer by moving in a smooth way, fighting in the center of the ring, stays focused, fights with it’s head low, and has a longer trajectory before turning around. These qualities will allow the Matador to display a cape work full of rhythm, aesthetic movement, beauty and full partnership between each other. At times accidents occur with good bulls because the Matador gets overly confident which places them at risk for a mishap. Danger is not apparent, but a slight mistake of the Matador can result in placing them in harms way.
The bulls utilized to perform in our shows will always be carefully chosen, well fed, and healthy. These are basic requirements with the most important factor being the genetic component. On the outside, bulls coming from different sources may look alike but differences are seen in their behavior or performance in the arena. Bulls can be used only one time so you don’t know how every bull will behave until the moment they are performing. It’s all about percentages: bulls from a recognized breeder will consistently work well, however, this is not an absolute and there will be some exceptions.
The status of the Breeder is on the line in every event. This is why it is very important that their bulls exhibit good presentation (size, body condition) and genetic traits. In advertising posters for the Bullfight, the main element will be not only the name of the performers, but also the name of the breeder. Often time’s people attend shows because of the excellent reputation of the breeder. Our Bullfighters prefer “El Colemenar” genetics in our bulls to maximize the chances of a successful bullfight.
