In the Martinez family, there are two “power- houses” that started in the early 1960s. The first was founded by Gerardo Martinez Sr. and the second by his younger brother Manolo Martinez. They both took independent paths into the bullfighting world becoming the best in their own specialties. In a short time, Gerardo Martinez Sr. mastered a way to understand cattle genetics. He was able to achieve the highest degree of predictability and desirable behavior in his fighting bulls. He also took his registered Beefmaster and Red Brangus herds to the same levels. He was passionate about finding ways to have a sustainable operation in which fighting and beef cattle could share the land with wild species, preserving and improving the echo system. One of his biggest satisfactions was to share his knowledge with whoever was interested. A lot of his time was spent teaching young kids at the ranch the techniques of bullfighting and eventually some of them became important matadors. Several books and articles have been written about his theories on fighting bull behavior and bull fighting techniques.

Younger brother Manolo Martinez created the second powerhouse. Because of his contributions, he is considered the most important matador in the last 50 years and the most influential in the modern world of bullfighting. He took bullfighting to the highest ever-artistic degree by his understanding of the bull’s behavior and mastering his refined and advanced techniques. At the end of his first year as a Matador, Manolo climbed to the number one position in bullfighting and kept it for 20 years until he retired. He set many world records that to date have not been broken. Since his passing in 1996, no other Matador has been able to replace him. Matadors of his magnitude come once or twice in a century.

In 2016, Gerardo Martinez Jr. invited his cousin Matador Manolo Martinez Jr. to join a project that later evolved into Ole! Entertainment LLC. Both Martinez cousins are direct descendants and recipients of their prominent father’s knowledge and experience. Manolo Jr. is recognized as an important Matador. Both Gerardo and Manolo offer areas of expertise in all aspect of the bullfighting world such as breeding cattle, organizing events, managing Matadors, developing new talent, merchandising and marketing. In addition to working successfully at the highest levels in the industry, the Martinez’s are hard working individuals accepting nothing but excellence in what they do, expecting the same of people working with them.

With our extensive knowledge and experience in the Bullfighting world, we created Ole! Entertainment LLC a company based in McAllen, Texas. This was no easy feat. For the first time in the history of Bullfighting in the United States, our Matadors were granted working visas. This allowed us to create a real dream team of bullfighting experts and Matadors from all over the world. They were specifically chosen for their capacity and personal values representing a variety of styles and personalities that conform contemporary bullfighting. The production we offer is a unique experience that only we can offer. It’s comparable to top quality shows that one could see in countries around the world with a bullfighting tradition.
